12:30pm – Grave Washing
2:00pm – Service led by Rev. O-Rai Fujikawa
ALL ARE WELCOME
Washing of the graves will begin from 12:30, please bring wash cloths and buckets to wash the 150+ gravestones that mark interred people of Japanese descent.
After the ceremony, the Old Cemeteries Society, led by John Adams will take a brief walking tour of some of the graves.
This year’s O-Bon Ceremony, presided by O-Rai Fujikawa begins at 2:00 pm at the Kakehashi Memorial stone.
Donations of flowers to leave on the gravestones will be most appreciated. Please bring them to the cemetery for placement after the washing.
