ALL ARE WELCOME
This year marks a new beginning to an old tradition.
In coordination with the Vancouver Island Obon Tour, the Victoria Nikkei Cultural Society will welcome the group as they complete their tour in Victoria on Sunday, July 31st.
We welcome members of the VNCS as well as the other Japanese societies and the general public. We’re hoping to see a lot of familiar faces from our Support Japan 2011 Gambare Nippon group!
We will gather at the Ross Bay Cemetery from 12:30 pm to wash the graves and honour the 150 graves of Japanese descent. Your assistance and donations of flowers are much appreciated.
Reverend Grant Ikuta will offer a service at 2:00 pm and afterwards, please join us for dancing, drumming, light refreshments and food across the road at the Ross Bay Villa.
Everyone – families, children and friends are welcome , there’s no cost to participate.
If you can help with the preparation of food and drinks, please contact Debbie Ibaraki at or Amy Kawano at
