Support your society and attend the VNCS AGM on Sunday, February 6, 2011 at the Esquimalt Rec Centre. Proceedings begin at 10 am followed by a short lunch break at 11:30 am. From 12:00—1:30 pm we are pleased to present a free film and presentation on Samurai swords and armour by Trevor Abolson.

A documentary by Trevor Absolon. The samurai remain one of the most enduring and iconic images of traditional Japanese culture; and yet, few people truly understand who these famed warriors were or know what suddenly happened to more than two million of them just over 140 years ago.
Author and documentary film maker, Trevor Absolon, will answer these questions and more as he guides you through the lost world of the samurai, where he will peel away pop-culture myth)

Book December 12th for the Uminari Christmas Open House! Drop by between 4:15 and 5:45 p.m. that Sunday to enjoy a short performance, get a mini taiko lesson ( i.e. a chance to hit the drums) and have some homemade Christmas treats. You will also get a chance to meet and chat with members of Uminari. This will be a great way to learn more about taiko or find out more about our upcoming workshop or class in the new year. Hope to see you there!
