Savour the wonderful tastes of Japan (including delicious sushi, bento boxes and sweet manju desserts). Experience demonstrations of ikebana, tea ceremony, bonsai, shodo, sumi-e, kendo and aikido. Enjoy performances by Uminari Taiko, the Furusato Dancers, Satomi Edwards (Koto), the VJHLSS Children’s Dance Group and Choir and many more!
New for this year:
- We’re very excited to have potter Harumi Ota joining us. Ota-san will be providing pottery demonstrations in the Kids Room (Senior’s Centre) as well as an activity for kids.
- “Light Up Nippon” a documentary film will be shown in the Kanaka Room at 12:45 and 1:45 (running time is 30m). The film is being provided by the Consulate General of Japan (Vancouver).
- Food Ticket Sales will still be in the Jubilee Hall HOWEVER this year pickup of food (Sushi, Manju, Bentos etc) will be in the Bullen Perk area.
