Enjoy performances by Uminari Taiko, the Furusato Dancers, Satomi Edwards (Koto), the VJHLSS Children’s Dance Group and Choir and many more!

This year’s highlights:

  • Brian Angene who recently founded the Victoria Kyudo Association will be giving a presentation on Kyudo (Japanese Archery) in the Craigflower room at 12:45pm.
  • Rebecca Kool will be doing Kamishibai (a form of storytelling that originated in Japanese Buddhist temples in the 12th century, where monks used picture scrolls to convey stories) for the first time in the Kids Room at 1:15pm.
  • Gordon & Ann-Lee Switzer, our resident historians of Victoria’s early Japanese community and authors of the book Gateway to Promise: Canada’s First Japanese Community will be giving an illustrated talk in the Craigflower room at 1:45pm.
  • NOTE: The Esquimalt Recreation Centre is under going a fairly significant renovation to the common areas which may have an impact on some of the displays in the Atrium.
