
Parking Coordinator

Time commitment leading up to Fair: 1 hr
Time commitment on Fair Day: 8hrs
Duration: April through August (9hrs in total)
Duties
The Parking Coordinator supports all vehicle and bicycle parking activities from 8:30 to 4:30 on Fair day. This includes overseeing and providing direction to all parking volunteers (total 11):
- Front Gate – 3
- Bottom of the Hill – 2
- Main Parking Lot – 2
- Overflow Parking Lot – 3 (also need to check in with the Bike Valet periodically)
- Floater/Break Coverage – 1
The coordinator makes sure all staff have reflective safety vests on, are equipped with walkie talkies, safety cones etc. and take breaks as needed. Note: All equipment is provided by the VNCS.
The Parking Coordinator also liaises with the Fair Co-Leads and the Outdoor Coordinator as needed.
The goal is to ensure the smooth operations of parking for the fair. Note: parking volumes tend to smooth out about 3:30 but until then it is complete traffic control from 9:30 onwards.
Training will be provided by the Fair Operational Leads.
